Novotel to hire 200 staff in Dubai ahead of summer opening

The 465-room Novotel Al Barsha hotel plans to recruit 200 employees locally through ‘Open Days’ and recruitment agencies prior to its opening in the next few months, said a senior official.

Speaking to Emirates 247, Chris McFall, Director of Sales and Marketing at Novotel Al Barsha, said: “We plan to hire over 200 staff.” McFall said the hotel will be hiring both local and international talent. “We aim to hire different nationalities to ensure we can attend to any specific requirements and become the ideal staycation for any guest.

Dubai to be world’s busiest airport by 2015 – Creating 1000s of jobs

New research for the Airport Show – which opens its doors to visitors today at Dubai’s International Conference Centre – reports that the fast-growing aviation industry will transform the GCC into a world travel hub with Dubai set to become the world’s busiest airport by 2015.

GCC airports are expected to handle as many as 250 million passengers by 2020, with the Middle East estimated to have the third fastest passenger growth rate of 6.6% by 2016.

In terms of employment, the aviation industry is projected to create an additional 294,000 jobs in the GCC over the next 15 years.

New ‘video CV’ career portal launches in UAE

InternsME, a new not-for-profit career portal, is helping students and fresh graduates get internships and full time jobs by standing out to employers on camera.

Jobseekers can film their visumes using a smartphone, tablet, or record directly through the site using a webcam.

The portal, launched last month, already has more than 2,000 members and represents more than 70 nationalities in the region is also hoping to support the regional education sector by encouraging companies in the UAE to focus on the local talent pool rather than recruiting from abroad.
