UAE announces Milad Al Nabi holiday

UAE authorities have confirmed a public and private sector holiday on Thursday, January 24 to celebrate Milad Al Nabi, the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). This was reported on Arabianbusiness.com

Ministries and federal departments will remain closed on 12th of Rabi Al Awwal, 1434 Hijri. The circular was issued by Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qattami, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.

All private and public sector employees will be given paid holiday for the day. Work will resume on Sunday, January 27, authorities said in comments published on state news agency WAM.
