Great website, excellent tips and guidance , much appreciated your help.
Well, I think I am lucky enough to find this at the right time, since I am on a visit visa and came to UAE last week.
Could you give me some advice on the current job prospective of UAE market and the usefulness of replying to paper advertised vacancies or to recruitement agencies? I am a Management graduate, who did his masters in the UK and has about 4 years of UK experience in variety of roles(management, marketing, customer service and administration). I am looking for positions in management, marketing and administration. I have heard that Western education has a good reputation in the job market. I would like to know which aspect the ‘western’ I can highlight in CV and covering letter to stand out from the crowd. Either the course, job, culture exposure, language etc.. I mean the important aspects employers like the most.
If your qualifications fit their needs, by all means, reply to job postings you find on the local classifieds. It may be worth mentioning though that in the middle of 2008, employers have begun refraining from specifying nationality preferences in their paper ads. That’s not to say however, employers are no longer targeting specific nationalities in their job posts. Quite frankly, many companies have jobs specifically offered to certain nationalities.
In most cases, if your degree certificates and other credentials are issued by a Western institution, that’s enough to highlight the ‘western’ part of your qualification. The rest should match the job description as posted.
Recently I have passed my Msc Accounting & Finance degree from a reputed UK university, it is my second masters. My first masters was in Banking & Finance. Along with my MSc I joined a financial organisation in London and worked there for about 10 months as a business research and financial analyst. There is no gap in my studies and I have just ten months work experience. I want to move to UAE and pursue my career in the banking sector, so kindly suggest me that how can I secure good possition in UAE job market. thanx

The companies you have sent copies of your CV to may not have need for the position you are looking for. I would recommend using our premium service to narrow your search down to industry-specific companies. It is important for your CV to get noticed. To accomplish that, you need exposure to those who are actually looking to hire.
I have experience at freight forwarding / transport business almost 7 years in Indonesia how my possibility if I try to get a new job at Dubai with my experinces
Related experience is given a premium in Dubai. That means you’ll be an attractive candidate in the transport/export industry because of your work history. Read this page on the Recruitment Process and learn how Dubai employers handle their staffing needs. Good luck!
I Am Anu. I got a job in dubai. My Aed is 2500. is it worthable to live there.i want to know cost of living food,Accomadation,Traveling Expences. I got asst: Accounts there. I Wil be join to thath company on jan 15th.
Review this guide on Cost of Living. AED 2500/mo, depending on benefits and other perks, may be in the lowest-income range. You may still be able to live and work here in Dubai with that pay, but you may have to really be frugal.
There may be opportunities for part-time assignments for graphic designers in Dubai. But you’d rarely find these advertised. It’s best for you to begin building your Dubai contact network (try this method). Often, part-time gigs get given to those who know someone within the company needing part-time services.
For the willing, able and hardworking, Dubai is a good place to work. However, because you don’t have any related experience yet, be prepared to work your way up. Best of luck!
For the qualified, willing and able job seeker, Dubai presents plenty of opportunities. There’s definitely room for one more qualified accountant in the UAE. Good luck!
I lived and worked in Dubai from 06-07, on the construction of the International Airport terminal 3, since leaving Dubai I am finding it very difficult to find another job there. I have sent hundreds of CV’s to hundreds of companies using all the recruiting websites available and don’t seem to be getting anywhere.
Do you have any suggestions or contacts that could perhaps help me find a job?
