2013 Calendar of Public Holidays in UAE Announced

According to the Dubai Chronicle, The Abu Dhabi Government has announced on its website the 2013 Calendar of public holidays in the UAE.

Government employees will have public holidays on the days shown below. These are the public holidays according to the calendar.

  • January 1, 2013 – New year’s Day
  • January 24, 2013 – The Prophet’s Birthday
  • June 6, 2013 — Israa and Miaraj night
  • August 8, 2013 — Eid Al Fitr
  • October 14, 2013 — Arafat Day
  • October 15, 2013 — Eid Al Adha
  • November 4, 2013  – Hijiri New Year
  • December 2 and 3, 2013 — National Day

Dates for Islamic holidays are estimates, and the public holidays which are based on the moon phases will be announced once the moon is sighted. Therefore, these are not included in the calendar.
